Barbandismo
(1990, Neverglades CS 1012)

Digital reissue available NOW!

Original liner notes:

"We always wanted to do things that bar bands do but without ever having to become a bar band. Stuff like smoking o.p.'s (songs, like in cigarettes, copped from other people), stringing up tunes for medleys like beads in a necklace and generally making wack music live on stage. Barbandismo - it's a hell of a concept and a hell of a life. But it's kicks we can't kick so consider this the first of a series. Like those who have gone before us, we got a million of 'em."

Demonstrate!
(1988, Thangzilla Recordings)
"Original Studio Cuts plus Raw and Durty Live Side"

Digital reissue available NOW!

Original liner notes:

"The Groove Thangs are a new breed of rock and soul combo direct from the blues funk lounges of hell. Their sound is a fusion of beach, street, swamp and back alley music that is as slick as it is sloppy. They make up their own songs and dig heavily into many works known and obscure.

"Side 1 demonstrates some results of rare studio forays. Side 2 demonstrates a live performance recorded at Durty Harry's Raw Bar in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Every effort was made to capture that raw, durty 'hut' sound. Ears accustomed to modern digital production techniques may need a few moments here to get acclimated to the sonic density of lo-fi. We suggest very large volume.

"This demonstration is a mere taste of the Groove Thangs. More is always available at the source. So until experienced intimately, just listen to the tape and twist the top off this mutha!"
